Grace Kilgore Barnes

Grace Kilgore Barnes, age 99 of Winchester, passed away on December 21, 2023, at her residence. She was born on September 2, 1924, in Tracy City, to the late Edward Yarworth and Jane Hargis Yarworth. Grace was a devoted homemaker and cherished her time spent with family. Her passion was quilting and sewing and although she was self-taught, she won several state championships with her quilts. Grace also loved to cook and decorate cakes. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Grace was a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church for over 40 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Yarworth and Jane Hargis Yarworth; first husband, Thomas Kilgore; second husband, William Barnes; daughter, Jenny Sisk; son, Carl Kilgore; and seven siblings. She is survived by her daughters, Faye (Frank) Yencer, Debbye (Randy) Cowan, Christa (Mike) Partin; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren; and special caregiver, Lisa Gifford. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 12pm-2pm at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 2pm on December 23,2023, at Watson Funeral Home.
