Obituary published on Legacy.com by Seydler-Hill Funeral Home - Gonzales on Dec. 9, 2025.
Grace Trevino Benes a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, went to be with the Lord at the age of 100 on November 13, 2025 in
Gonzales, Tx surrounded by family and her granddaughter as her loving caretaker.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and quiet strength. Born in
Raymondville, Tx on September 5, 1925, she married her sweetheart, Laddie Benes, on December 26, 1945. 67 years of marriage, a beautiful partnership that carried them through a lifetime of devotion to each other and to their family.
She was a long-time resident of
Port Lavaca, Tx. There, she and Laddie worked side by side running their Benes Texaco station for over 35 years. She poured her heart into everything she touched, whether tending the flowers with the Port Lavaca Garden Club, serving as a Pink Lady at the hospital, or greeting every child with warmth as she taught catechism at Our Lady of the Gulf for more than 25 years. Her faith and gentle spirit shone through in all she did.
She found simple happiness in small things-visiting with friends, helping at church, and even bowling, where she made sweet memories with her teammates in the Port Lavaca Bowling League. She once bowled an impressive 621 series, a moment she held onto with a smile.
Her family was the light of her life. She was one of the last remaining members of her generation, and her absence will be deeply felt. She leaves behind her daughter in law Judy Benes; grandchildren Carrie (Craig) Blanton, John Benes, and Steven (Angie) Franco; great-grandchildren Amanda Blanton, Tyler (Kalin) Blanton, Hayley (Patrick) Laredo, and Bryce Blanton; and great-great-grandchildren Mason Nations, Zoey Shaw, Elsie Blanton, Laynie Laredo and Lucy Blanton.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Laddie; parents Juan Trevino and Stella Evans; sisters Anna Leonard and Stella Flick; brother Bob Evans; her children Ronnie Benes, Randy Benes, and Judy Franco.
She will be remembered for her gentle smile, her caring heart, and the unwavering love she gave so freely. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with so many loved ones, and that her beautiful spirit will continue to live on in every life she touched.
Prayers of the Holy Rosary will be offered at 11 am Friday, December 12, 2025 in the Seydler-Hill Funeral Home Chapel with inurnment following in the Shiner Catholic Cemetery.
