Grace R. Brady

Grace R. Brady passed away on May 8, 2025, after a debilitating stroke. Grace was born on November 27, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, and was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine Geremia. She was a graduate of Ladycliff College, Class of 1968.Grace began her career as an elementary school teacher in Maryland. She later became a social worker for the Westchester County Department of Social Services and retired in 2002. Following her retirement, she continued her dedication to service by working as a caseworker for A-Home, retiring once more in 2013. Grace devoted her life to helping those in need, always going above and beyond her professional duties to ensure the well-being of vulnerable populations. A passionate volunteer, Grace worked tirelessly with Forgotten Felines Cat Rescue Group beginning in the early 1990s. Over the years, she rescued and found homes for hundreds of stray cats. Grace also had a love for making floral arrangements for friends and family. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, which she celebrated with great joy. She loved visiting New Orleans and Block Island, and held a deep fondness for Northport, Long Island, where she grew up. She especially loved Northport Harbor, where she had often sailed with her family. Grace is survived by her daughter, Joanna; her former husband, John Brady, and his wife, Donna Caffero-Brady; her brother-in-law, James Brady; and many cherished family members and lifelong friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held at the Church of Holy Spirit on Saturday June 7 at 11am following a memorial gathering on Saturday, June 7, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at O'Mara & Carpentieri Funeral Home, 97 Broadway, Verplanck, New York.
