Grace H. Combs, 85, of Durham, North Carolina peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. She was born to the late William and Annie Herndon in Pittsboro, North Carolina on February 9, 1938.
Mrs. Combs worked at Durham Drapery for many years in Quality Control. She faithfully attended Faith Worship Center in her younger years. Grace will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who will be deeply missed by the many lives she touched.
Grace is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Jasper Ray Combs; and brothers, W.R. Herndon, John Herndon, and George Herndon.
Mrs. Combs is survived by her sons, Warren Ray Combs (Janet), Wayne Alan Combs (Angela) and Randall Scott Combs (Tracy); daughter, Cheryl Combs Brewer (Terry); brothers, Tommy Herndon (Diane), Charles Herndon (Cathy) and Paul Herndon (Becky); sisters, Violet Colclough and Marie McCorkle (Pete); grandchildren, Zack Combs, Josh Combs (Tammy), Danielle Hardy (John), Jennifer Roberts (Dan), Jessica Combs (Tyler), Bradley Brewer, Heather Caudle, Mark Mabry (Natalie), Deana Morrison (Carlton) and Tonya Harward (Randy); great grandchildren, Addison Combs, Ophelia Hardy, Myles Roberts, Beckham Roberts, Landon Matthews, Caroline Brewer, Emma Caudle, George Caudle, Wells Caudle, Lucy Caudle, Marley Mabry, Chase Harwood, Chandler Harwood, Conner Harwood, Olivia Hodge (Kyle), and Kyle Taylor; great-great grandchildren, Ezra and Raelynne Hodge; and numerous other loving family members and friends.
A Funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Hudson Funeral Home, 211 S. Miami Blvd., Durham, NC 27703. Officiating will be Pastor Charlie McNeill. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. A private burial will take place at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
