It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Grace Elizabeth Edwards. She was born on January 18, 1938, in Washington, DC to Charles Walker Harris and Laura Harris. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, and mother. After fighting a five-year battle with Dementia, she gained her wings on November 4, 2023, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD.
She is survived by her four children, Angela Kamara, Demitrius “Dee Dee” Vanhook (Isaac Vanhook), Ladonna Harriston, and Gerald Harris, her brother Earl Harris, and her sisters Jean Harris, Julia Ann Hines, and Sheila Harris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Walker Harris and Laura Harris, her husband Herbert Edwards, her sister Ruth Harris Wright, and her brothers Turner Harris and John Ivy Jenkins.
