Grace A. Harrington, a beloved soul, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at Hildebrandt Hospice, just days before her 68th birthday. Born on November 8, 1957, in Rochester, Grace filled the lives of those around her with warmth, kindness, and an inexhaustible spirit.
Grace devoted many years of her professional life to Bausch + Lomb, where her commitment and dedication were evident in all her endeavors. Her colleagues remember her not just for her professionalism but for the caring attitude she brought into the workplace, inspiring many with her positivity and resilience.
Family was paramount in Grace's life. She leaves behind her loving husband, Walter G. Harrington, with whom she shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, support, and love. Grace is also survived by her sister, Marie (Daniel) Bishop, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Her cherished niece, Kimberly (Jason) Briggs, and nephew, Christopher Palermo, will deeply miss the warmth and affection of their beloved aunt.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Mae (Goodman) Palermo, and her brother, Carl Palermo, as well as her dear sister, Joanne Palermo. The bond they shared was a source of comfort and strength throughout her life, and she held their memories close to her heart.
A lover of animals, Grace had a special relationship with her favorite dog, Lucky, who was a constant companion by her side. Her passion for nurturing all living things was a reflection of her generous spirit and the joy she found in the simple pleasures of life.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during a visitation on November 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, Westside, located at 2636 Ridgeway Ave in Rochester.
