Richard Henry Harrington, age 89, a resident of Merrimack, NH, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Marjorie (Henderson) Harrington whom he enjoyed 43 years of marriage and of the late Sheila Hoban Harrington, to whom he was married for 20 years until her passing in 1978.
He was born in Waltham on January 7, 1936, and was the son of the late Joseph and Marie A. (O'Brien) Harrington.
In addition to his loving wife, Richard leaves his son Thomas Harrington and his wife Sara (Farino) Harrington, his daughter-in-law Nancy (Lynah) Harrington, his grandchildren Haleigh and Heather Harrington, his daughter Eileen Harrington, and his siblings, Mary Jane Coneeny, Joseph Harrington, Sheila and Anthony Tomase, Kathleen Bell, and John and Lynda Harrington. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Sadly, he was predeceased by his first wife Sheila Hoban Harrington, and his son Richard Harrington, Jr.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, from 8: 30 am to 10 am at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday following the visitation at 11am at St Mary Parish, 25 North Road, Chelmsford. Interment will follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
Memorial donations may be made in Richard's memory to the American Parkinson Disease Association, MA Chapter, 15 S. Main St., PO Box 272, Sharon, MA 02067 or apdaparkinson.org/community/Massachusetts.

And the elements so mixed in him,
That Nature might stand up And say to all the world,
THIS WAS A MAN!"

Oh Margie and family, I am so sorry that Dick had to leave you all. He did try with all his might to stay. May all the happy memories he gave you as the loving husband, father and grandfather to the girls somehow ease the pain of your loss. He will be greatly missed but.... close your eyes and see that radiant smile of his. Even at his last moments for you Margie.
