Grace Hoffman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Nov. 21 to Nov. 27, 2022.
Grace Marie Paganucci was born October 1, 1931, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to James and Hilda Paganucci. She married her childhood friend Charles Hoffman after he finished his college education in 1952. They were soon blessed with four children, Richard, Douglas, Bruce, and Nancy.

As their family grew, Grace found numerous ways to give back to her community. Grace was a self-proclaimed "professional volunteer" at Trinity Tower Methodist Church, Deer Valley YMCA Camp, Westmoreland Hospital, FUMC Greensburg and several other organizations. She was an accomplished and talented crafter, seamstress, quilter, needleworker, and master chef. Grace welcomed the many friends and fellow athletes the sons brought home to the family table. She enjoyed planning and preparing elaborate dinners as well as cooking luncheon meals for her church.

In 1978, Chuck and Grace moved from their Penn Hills neighborhood to nearby Greensburg, PA. In retirement they spent many years traveling the U S and Europe and managed to visit 49 of the 50 states during this time. Special memories included taking all their teenaged grandchildren on European trips. As a lifelong Pittsburgher she enjoyed sharing her hometown with her visiting out-of-town grandchildren. Her favorite activity being riding the roller coasters and eating funnel cakes at Kennywood Park. In 2012, due to Chuck's failing health, they moved to Humble, Texas near family and grandchildren. Grace and Chuck celebrated 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2012. Grace spent many birthdays and vacations with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her 91 years were well lived with family and friends creating a legacy of love and acceptance for all.

She is survived by children Richard and Dottie Hoffman, Doug Hoffman and Alice, Bruce and Sharon Hoffman, Nancy and Richard Marsh, and her 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on December 3, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the Sanctuary at First United Methodist Church of Humble 800 E. Main Street, Humble, TX 77346.

Grace and Chuck took my brother and me in as a part of the Hoffman family without question or hesitation when Doug married my mom. The last 40 years with Grace have been an ongoing lesson of how to live a joyful life of service to my community. My memories of Grace will always be a blessing and I´ll continue to share her stories and recipes with the next generation!

Grace and Chuck took me in and made me part of the Hoffman family from the first moment I showed up unexpectedly in their lives. The memories that we made together over the last 40 years will give me peace. Grace´s lessons on how to live a good life- full of joy and service, will continue to guide me in the future. Plus- I have cookie recipes that will continue to pass down through the generations
