Grace Leathead Obituary

Grand Rapids, MI
a woman who showed the love, grace, and mercy of Jesus, peacefully went to be with her Savior on September 14, 2023. She was surrounded by her loving family. Grace was born on August 1, 1931. She is survived by her husband Wendell Leathead of nearly 73 years and three children. Wendy and (Paul) Caminiti, Mark and (Alice) Leathead, Jan and (Mark) Pasma. She loved being personally involved in the lives of her 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren who brought her great joy. Her legacy of care and kindness will always be remembered. Being a compassionate person, she put others before herself. She was always willing to help those in need. She was a true friend to everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Well done good and faithful servant. The family will be hosting an open house to honor the life of Grace Leathead on September 22, 2023 from 5pm to 8pm at Bauer Christian Reformed Church, 4958 Bauer Rd. Hudsonville, MI 49426.

My first memories of Grace Bible Church include their kind, loving secretary, Grace. She was a sweetheart and very good at her job.
I remember at a church meeting when budgets/salaries were discussed that she said she did NOT want a raise in her salary. I never heard that before--or since. What a woman!

The Hofstra family, who attended Grace Bible Church, with the Leathead family many years ago, will always remember Grace fondly as a warm, friendly and always smiling Lady. Our thoughts go to Wendell and the children. Over all these many decades, and all these many miles away, it is a blessing to remember such a wonderful Christian and friend to all.
