Grace Gina Madrid

Grace Gina Garcia Madrid (RN,MSN) born August 31st, 1958, only child of Mariano and Nelly Garcia. Born in Quezon City in the Philippines. Granted 4 Children, and 3 step children. Gifted with 9 beautiful grandchildren whom she loved and adored. She studied in catholic schools from Kindergarten to University. Earned a Bachelor and a Master's degree of Science in Nursing from Universities in the Philippines and the United States. For the next 40 years, Grace would dedicate her working life to a nursing career in various hospitals in New York and California, including Brooklyn Community Hospital in New York, St. Vincent Hospital in Los Angeles and finally Kaiser Permanente Hospital as the Assistant Department Administrator of Nurses in the Step Down Unit in the Southern California region. She had a passion for learning and teaching and worked as a University Instructor for nursing and as a home health nurse in Southern California.

Grace loved to travel, play Scrabble with her family, play guitar and read books of all genres. She loved karaoke, and was in a choral group during her University years. Respected and admired by many, Grace led a life of discipline, warmth and love. Grace touched many lives with her wisdom and unwavering spirit of perseverance. A lifelong learner and devoted mother and grandmother, she had a passion for caring for others. She is survived by her loving family and friends, who will carry forward the lessons she so earnestly shared.
