Grace Perry Oakley, 85, a lifelong resident of Durham, North Carolina, passed away on February 1, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Albert N. Perry and Dora Hedgepeth Perry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Linnie Lewis Oakley, Sr.; one sister, Barbara Perry Wynne; and three brothers, Albert Donald “Bud” Perry, Marion “Artis” Perry, and Ricky Ravon Perry.
She is survived by her son, Linnie Oakley, Jr. (Angie) of Durham; and three daughters, Susan Oakley Lohmueller (Kurt) of Georgia, Karen Oakley Smith (Bill) of Apex, and Sherri Oakley Watson (Joe) of Durham. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and three sisters-in-law, Sandra Carden Perry, Alice Perry Janney, and Barbara Oakley Hildebran, as well as many other loving relatives.
A graveside service will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Reverend Phillip Adams will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The SGT Mark Adams Foundation for the Children of Peru, 110 Marcom Drive, Morrisville, NC 27560.
