Grace M. Oyen, 92, of Potosi, WI passed away with her family by her side on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at Edenbrook Nursing Home in Platteville, WI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16th at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson, WI with Fr. Richard Leffler officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Andrew Church Cemetery in Tennyson, WI. Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 16th from 9:00-10:45 a.m. at the church. The Haudenshield Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba City, WI is serving the family.
Grace was born on February 23, 1932 to Clement & Dorothy (Wiederholt) Wiegman in Hazel Green, WI. She married Philip J. Oyen on April 12, 1955 in Hazel Green, WI.
She was a member of the St. Andrew-Thomas Catholic Church.
Grace enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking (her famous angel food cakes), bowling, but most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Grace is survived by 5 children: LuAnn (Larry) Fecht of Potosi, WI, Debbie (David) Erie of Hillsboro, WI, Connie (Terry) Miles Schaefer of Lancaster, WI, Chuck (Karla) Oyen of Potosi, WI and Jane (Ron) Harnage of Titusville, FL; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Lisa Oyen; 2 sisters: Donna Myers of Rockford, IL and Mary Ann Langmeier of Cuba City, WI, 2 brothers: Bob Wiegman of Hazel Green, WI and Clem (Phyllis) Wiegman Jr. of Livingston, WI; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Wiegman of Dubuque, IA; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Philip (July 1, 2017), a son, Don Oyen, a son-in-law, Michael D. Miles, 5 siblings: Mabel (Edward) Mueller, John (Helen) Wiegman, Alice (James) Lux, Dorothy Wiegman, Paul Wiegman, a sister-in-law, Wilma Wiegman and a brother-in-law, Donald Langmeier, Sr.
In lieu of plants & flowers, a Grace M. Oyen Memorial Fund has been established.
