Grace Catherine Robia

Grace Catherine Robia, 35, passed away Wednesday, July 16th after a battle with mental illness and addiction. Prior to this, Grace was full of life, energy, creativity, and sweetness. She was born and raised in Bemidji, Minnesota. Love was poured into her by many teachers, friends, neighbors, her family, and her church family. She attended St. Olaf College where she studied history, graduating in 2012.

Grace approached others with her heart wide open which endeared many to her, especially her parents Mark & Jan Robia. They were sustained for the last decade of Grace's life by a deep love for her and a steadfast dependence on the Lord. She was also loved by three older siblings Seth (Jenn), Ellen (Dustin), and Elliot (Mary), dear Aunt Judy, several nephews and nieces who called her Deke, and several uncles and aunts. Grace also dearly loved and was loved by her spiritually adopted family, Angelina and her children.

Grace had an enduring love for the natural world, including her beloved pets and all sorts of plants. When she was in her happiest spot (her parents' home in Pinewood) you would likely find her cuddling the cat, playing with the dog. or taking her horse on trail rides through the woods. She had a knack for training animals, and nurtured creatures big and small with tenderness and joy. When she was 10, Grace found 4 baby birds that had fallen out of the nest and she raised them in a box in her bedroom.

Grace was endlessly curious and inspired by cultures all around the world. She was especially fond of the traditions and language of Mexico. She took many visits there in her adult years and made some sweet friends along the way. She was always yearning to go back.

In this season of grieving, Grace's family is flooded with precious memories of her life, and comforted at the thought of being together again in heaven by the saving power of Jesus Christ their Lord.

Services will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, August 25, 2025 at First Baptist Church in Bemidji, MN.
