OUR BELOVED MOTHER GRACE EVELYN STEAD
Grace Evelyn (Blowers) Stead was born November 27, 1924 in her parents farmhouse near Lansford, North Dakota and passed away November 10, 2025 in Lacey, WA, just 17 days shy of her 101st birthday. She was preceded in death by the love of her life Darrell W. Stead (2024) whom she was married to for almost 80 years. She is survived by sons D. Lorre Stead (Viviane), Olympia; Craig W. Stead, Grand Mound; Ronald O. Stead (Marsha), Olympia; and Darwin D. Stead (Patricia), Lake Forest Park-Seattle, and was preceded in death by son Kevin W. Stead (2022). She is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her grandson Brian G. Stead (1983); her parents Rollie and Mable Blowers and eight brothers and sisters, as well as many nephews and nieces. Grace was laid to rest at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Port Orchard, beside Darrell and Kevin. In keeping with her gentle nature, each of her sons and their families will honor her life with private graveside memorials.
She will always be remembered as the best mother any son could ask for—steadfast, kind, and full of grace. We love you, Mom. We miss you deeply. Your love lives on in all of us. Her life reflects the kindness and love she showed to all and her passing has touched her sons deeply, knowing we couldn't have had a better example to guide and shape our lives. Rest in peace forever Mom.
