Grace Irene (Templin) Strange, age 91, of White Pine, TN passed away on Wednesday December 21st. Grace spent the majority of her life in the White Pine/Jefferson County area and loved her community. She was a faithful member of Leadvale Baptist Church where she diligently participated and served in many church roles and functions. She also dearly enjoyed attending the local White Pine Senior Citizens Center where she had many beloved friends and tirelessly assisted and helped organize many activities at the center. Her favorite hobbies and skills included sewing, quilting and gardening. Grace is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Joseph T (“Joe”) Strange and parents, Thomas “Ray” Templin and Myrtle Elizabeth Templin. She is survived by a sister, Mary Ollis, a son, Dennis (Kathy) Strange, a daughter, Mildred Lynette Kinkead, a granddaughter, Molly Kate Strange, a Grandson, Randall (Kayla) Kinkead, and a great grandson, Braxtyn Kinkead in addition to several nieces and nephews and a special neighbor and friend, Tiburon(“Tibs”) the cat.
The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 27 at Leadvale Baptist Church from 5 to 7:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 7:00. Interment will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 28 at White Pine Cemetery.
The family would like to give a special note of gratitude to the staff of Amedisys Hospice of Morristown, TN.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Leadvale Baptist Church, the White Pine Senior Center or your local animal shelter.
