Grady Garrett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cagle Funeral Home - Jasper on Dec. 26, 2025.
Grady "Willie" Garrett, age 57, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away on December 25, 2025. Born on October 6, 1968, in Tate, Georgia, he was the son of the late Mr. Grady Garrett and Ruby Feagan Garrett.

Willie lived a life full of energy, grit, and heart. An avid race car driver, hunter, and fisherman, he found joy in the outdoors and in the thrill of the track. He never met a stranger, greeting everyone with the warmth and humor that made him unforgettable. His favorite saying, "Snow on the mountain, fire in the holler," captured his spirited personality and the way he approached life-with passion, humor, and a spark that never dimmed.

Above all, Willie loved his family deeply. He is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Karen Blackwell Garrett; his son, C.J. (Paige) Durham; his daughter, Haley Winn; and his beloved granddaughter, Ivey Durham, who brought him endless pride and joy.

He is also survived by his brothers Jeff (Shelia) Garrett, Johnny (Ashley) Garrett, and William (Teresa) Nelson; his sisters Connie Hutson and Diane Cook; his stepmother Diane Nelson; his mother in law Eva Blackwell; brothers in law Shane Blackwell and Daniel Brown; sister in law Angie (Gary) Simmons; a special great nephew, Matthew Padgett and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Buddy Garrett.
