Grant Anglemyer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Mar. 30, 2026.
Grant Miles Anglemyer, 80, died peacefully from a long illness March 26 at his home in Litchfield Country Club, Pawleys Island, SC.

A celebration to honor his life will be held Wednesday April 1, 2026 at 2PM at Belin United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet, SC.

Grant was born Feb. 3, 1946, in Elkhart County, IN, to Dale and Glenwyn Anglemyer. Growing up just outside South Bend, he was an avid Notre Dame fan. He earned a B.S. in pharmacy from Ferris State University in 1969 and became president of the Judd Drugs chain of pharmacies in Northern Indiana.

While negotiating the sale of the pharmacy chain to Revco, he met Janice. They married in Columbus, OH, in November 2001. Grant remained a pharmacist with Revco and later with CVS until his retirement in 2014.

Grant and Janice lived in Columbus until moving to Pawleys Island in 2015. He soon became involved in the community, including as a volunteer handyman at Brookgreen Gardens and a board member on the Litchfield Country Club POA.

A talented carpenter, he delighted in making decorative pieces for family and friends and tackling home improvement projects. No task was too complicated, from designing and building a stone patio, to laying hardwood floors or renovating a kitchen.

Grant was open-hearted and open-minded, non-judgmental and rational. He exemplified the best of Midwestern values and Southern manners. He was generous with his time, talents and resources and was sought out for his unassailable knowledge, not only in medicines but also in gardening and do-it-yourself projects.

In addition to Janice, he is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Anglemyer Reed (Mike) of Elkhart, IN, sons Aaron Anglemyer (Kimberly) of Boca Raton, FL, and James Royster (Raquel) of Murrells Inlet, SC; grandchildren Paxton Starrett, Dominic Starrett, Hannah Anglemyer, Kathryn Anglemyer, and James Royster; and his brother, Scott Anglemyer (Evelyn) of Goshen, IN.

Memorials may be made to Brookgreen Gardens Philanthropy Department or to Belin Memorial United Methodist Church.
