Mt. Olive, NC: Mr. Robert “Grant” Joyner, age 32, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held-3:30 PM Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Unity Presbyterian Church in Newton Grove. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Lay Minister Rebecca O’Dell will be officiating.
Grant was born on June 26, 1991 in Sampson County to Robert Earl Joyner and Christy Hunter Marshburn. Grant was preceded in death by his maternal great grandparents, Evelyn Boykin, Frank Hunter and George Hawkins; paternal grandparent, Ralph Earl Joyner; paternal great grandparents, Eli and Marjorie Joyner, Henry Talmadge and Altha Barefoot.
Surviving is his mother, Christy Sutton Marshburn of Mt. Olive; father, Robert Joyner and wife, Brandy of Benson; maternal grandparents, Rodney and Dora Ann Hunter of Faison; paternal grandparents, Sonja and John Dunn of Newton Grove, Lynn Joyner of Clinton; maternal great grandparent, Lois Hawkins of Clinton; siblings, Lora Joyner and fiancé, Kendric, HenriAnna Ulrich and husband, Will, IzaBell Sutton, Makayla Hackney and fiancé, Garrett, Kaleigh Weaver, Haleigh Weaver and Hunter Joyner; aunts and uncles, Nicole Bass and husband, Kevin, Nicole Swanson and husband, Andrew, Alex Dunn, Courtney Joyner and wife, Danielle, Seth Giddens; nieces and nephews, Kameron, Nolan, Kinley, Evelyn and Mae.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Friday, December 15 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and at other times at the home of Christy Marshburn, 413 W. James St., Mt. Olive NC 28365.
Flowers are welcome but memorials may be made to 3HC Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro NC 27534.
