Grant passed from this life on December 19, 2022.

He was born on July 2, 1930, to Henry John and Carrie Kaalstad Noorda and raised in Salt Lake City. He had two brothers, Neil and Duane, and one sister, Dianne. On August 26, 1950, he married Sherie Sutton (later divorced) and was the father of Michele, Robert, Richard and Chris, grandfather of 8, and great-grandfather of 7.

Grant was a general contractor and owned his own construction company. He was truly a master carpenter. He was always honest and fair in his work and life. He was friendly and happy and was respected by many. You would often hear him whistling as he worked (perfect pitch, by the way!).

He was quite the fishman and enjoyed it to the fullest. He learned to tie his own flies and became very pro"fish"ient at it. Grant loved fishing with his son, Richard, but equally loved the solitude of fishing alone. He loved the outdoors and nature and was a hunter in his younger years, but he "hunted" with his camera later in life.

He married Janet Smith Hansen on February 9, 1987 and gained another whole family to love. He was a good and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather to both families.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Carrie Noorda; brothers, Neil and Duane; and son, Richard. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janet; sister, Dianne Elges; children, Michele (Brent), Robert (Frances), and Chris; and, by stepchildren, Liz (Dan), Larry (Alison), Suzanne (Lou), and Julie (Colleen); and a total of 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd (10600 S.), on Tuesday, December 27. The viewing will begin at 10:30 am and memorial service at 11:15 am. Interment to follow. Online condolences may be offered to the family at larkincares.com
