It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of an Angel on earth, Greer "Charlene" Ransburgh.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and a cherished friend and wife. She peacefully left us on August 15th, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born on August 31st, 1949, in South Carolina to Jim and Margaret Petroff and a sister to Dennis, Steven, Sharita and William Petroff.

Charlene dedicated her life to her family with a joy for cooking, baking and bringing people together through the love she poured into everything she did.

For 38 years she worked at Captain Anderson's Restaurant, where she became more than just an employee to the Patronis family, serving guests with a warm smile and a kind heart. Her commitment to the restaurant and its community was unwavering, and she created countless memories in the hearts of those who worked with her and those who dined there. Going on to Arkansas and continuing her career in the restaurant business always happy to serve others and make friends with everyone she touched.

But outside of her restaurant career, Charlene had a passion for baking, decorating, growing her plants and growing in the hearts of everyone she met. She could often be found at a local thrift store uncovering hidden treasures. But her kitchen was the heart of her home, where she lovingly prepared meals for her family and baked the treats that were always in high demand. Every birthday you could count on her for your favorite cake and surprising you with a gift only she knew to get.

There was never a shortage of laughter, conversation, or delicious food whenever she was around. Her family and friends will forever remember the joy and warmth she brought to every meal or the competition she brought to a card game if you dared to play her.

As a mother and grandmother Charlene was a guiding light. She took immense pride in her children and grandchildren offering wisdom, encouragement, and love without hesitation. Her nurturing spirit and generosity of heart left a permanent mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Charlene is survived by her husband Russell H Ransburgh, Her children Michelle F Pabis, Kissie Clark, Lisa Hall and husband Kevin Hall, April Pabis, Michael F. Pabis and wife Tara Pabis, James Pabis and wife Niki Pabis, Russell Ransburgh Jr. and wife Angie Ransburgh, Ryan Ransburgh and wife Christine Ransburgh, Randy Ransburgh and wife Sabrina Ransburgh. Her grandchildren are William Cook, Rachel Simmons, Mercedes Camper, Andrew Scott, Rylee Ransburgh, Russell Ransburgh III, Robbie Ransburgh, Rachelle Ransburgh, Chloe Ransburgh, Raiden Ransburgh, Ruby Ransburgh, Reese Ransburg, Gage West, Hadley Johnson, Zoe Bell, Cole Bell and numerous great grandchildren with sister Sharita Petroff and brothers Dennis & William Petroff.

She will be deeply missed by everyone that had the blessing of knowing her. But her memory will live on through her children and their children's children and everyone that knew her.

A celebration of her life will be held at Captain Anderson's Restaurant in the Captain's Room on August 23rd, 2025, from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM for anyone that would like to come and share their memories of the greatest Mother, Wife and Friend that anyone could ever have!
