Greg Baumgartner

Greg Baumgartner, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away suddenly on August 24, 2025 at the age of 69.

Born on November 5, 1955 in Detroit, Greg lived a life defined by strength, hard work and love for his family. A rugged and determined man, he built a life rooted in integrity and perseverance. Whether working with his hands, lending support to those he loved or sharing stories with friends, Greg lived fully and left an impact on everyone who knew him.

He was a devoted husband to Peggy, with whom he shared 37 years of marriage. Together they built a family filled with love and laughter. He was a proud father to Greg (Kaitlynn) and Katie (Trapper) and a cherished grandfather to Grayson, Aiden, Bobby, Emma, Gracie, Stella and Ridge. He was also a beloved brother of Jerry, Mary-Ellen, Ron, Micki, Marcie, Mel, Chris, Midge, Terry, Elaine and Pat, with whom he shared lifelong bonds of love, memories and friendship. To his family, he was a steady presence and a man whose strength was matched only by the depth of his love.

One of the things his family and friends will remember most is his laugh - full, hearty and contagious; the kind of laugh that could fill a room and instantly lift the spirits of everyone around him.

Greg also leaves countless friends, extended family, and all those whose lives were made brighter by his humor, generosity, and resilience. His legacy will live on through the lessons he taught, the stories he shared and the love he gave.

A visitation to honor his life will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 4:00pm - 8:00pm with a 7:00pm Rosary at Chas. Verheyden Inc. - Duross Chapel, 28499 Schoenherr Rd., Warren, Michigan 48088. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose rugged spirit, kind heart and unforgettable laugh will never be forgotten.
