Gregory "Greg" Arthur Berry, age 72, of
Thurmont, Maryland, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of passion, knowledge, and music that touched the lives of many.
Greg dedicated 56 years of his life to the skilled trades, earning distinction as a master HVAC technician, Master Welder, Master Plumber and Master Pipefitter. His craftsmanship, work ethic, and knowledge were widely respected by all who knew and worked with him.
Greg-known fondly throughout the Thurmont community as "The Music Man"-earned his nickname through his deep love of music and his natural ability to bring joy to others through it. Greg's passion for music was unmistakable and contagious.
Greg also volunteered his expertise and time to educate at ABC Training Center in Hagerstown MD. He enjoyed sharing his knowledge to help others learn and grow.
A man of many interests, Greg had a love of tennis and could often be found following matches or discussing the sport with enthusiasm. He was equally devoted to history, spending countless hours reading, learning, and sharing his knowledge with others. His appreciation for antique cars reflected his admiration for craftsmanship and timeless design, and he took great pride in preserving and celebrating pieces of the past owning several antique cars of his own.
Greg will be remembered for his warm spirit, his curiosity, and the way he connected with others through shared interests and meaningful conversation. He had a gift for making people feel welcome and valued, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Sarah Berry; his children, Julie, Lynn, April her husband Jamie, Christopher his wife Julie, Jacob his partner Sharie, and James his partner Brynne; his grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan, Aviva, Sonya, Ashlee, Jerry, Katelyn, Tyler, Caroline, Emily, Christian, Braedon, Brooklyn, Christopher, Aubrey; and his great-grandchildren, Madison, Gabriel, and Benjamin. Brother Edward, sisters Rebecca and Marlette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and Edward Berry; his sister and brother, Nancy, Gary; and his grandchild, Joshua.
He is deeply missed by his family, friends, and the Thurmont community, who will forever remember the man who brought music, conversation, and joy into their lives.
A celebration of Greg's life will be held at a later date. In honor of his memory, those who knew him are encouraged to enjoy a favorite song, watch a tennis match, or take a moment to appreciate history-just as Greg always did. Greg Berry
