Greg Eugene Dasher, 66, passed away at home surrounded by family and under the care of Affinis Hospice on Thursday, August 22, 2024, after a short illness. Greg was born in Statesboro, GA to Eugene and Patsy Dasher on June 18, 1958. He was a 1976 graduate of Pinewood Christian Academy and attended Georgia Southern College. Greg was the owner and operator of the Sears Catalog Store in Glennville, GA. Later he began a long-standing career in farming at G&R Farms growing Vidalia Onions. He also raised livestock and worked at many different odd jobs with his brother, Gary, over the years. Much like his Dad, Greg loved to mow grass and keep the farm looking immaculate. Also, much like his Dad, he took great pride in his skill at the Set Back table and even named himself “the Dominator.” Greg worked diligently at whatever he did and was always ready and willing to help friends and family alike.
Greg is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Eugene Dasher and Patsy Stanfield Dasher and his step-brother, Brian Armstrong.
Greg is survived by his son Daniel Dasher of Sunbury, GA; his granddaughter Gracyn Dasher of Statesboro, GA; his step-mother Barbara Dasher of Glennville, GA; siblings Gary (Melanie) Dasher of Glennville, Glen (LeeAnne) Dasher of Statesboro, GA; and Susan (Simmie) Driggers also of Glennville; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
We would like to express our gratitude to the countless friends and family that have sent their gifts, prayers, and support over the duration of Greg’s illness. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Evans Memorial Hospital and Candler County Hospital for the wonderful care Greg received during his extended stay.
Visitation will be held at Brannen Family Funeral Services on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at 3pm, immediately followed by the service at 4:00 pm at Brannen Family Funeral Services Chapel with Dr. Rick Cason officiating. Burial services will be private.
Care and Services are entrusted to Brannen Family Funeral Services, in Glennville, GA "Our Family Serving Your Family."
