Greg Steffes

Greg Steffes, 51, Arthur, ND died on Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Center, Arthur under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Gregory Allen Steffes was born on June 17, 1960 at Moorhead, MN. He grew up on the family farm near Arthur and graduated from Dakota High School in Arthur in 1978. He received a degree in animal science from NDSU in Fargo in 1983. He made his home near Valley City where he farmed and ranched. Greg married Lori Anfinson on October 27, 1990 in Bismarck. They made their home on the farm at Valley City before returning to the Steffes farm near Arthur. Greg continued farming until his passing. He served on the Board of Directors for Polar Telephone, Amenia Township Board, and church council at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Valley City and later at Arthur United Methodist Church. Greg is survived by his wife, Lori; three sons, Cooper, Jack and Will; parents, Bob and Jean Steffes, Fargo; three brothers, Scott (Kelly), Fargo, Rodney (Jamie), Fargo and Tyler (Melissa), St. Bonifacius, MN; two sisters, Marcie (Darin) Pfingsten, Fargo and Carrie (Todd) Ham, Bagley, MN; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Catherine Steffes and Ralph and Edlin Skjaret. Memorials are preferred to Roger Maris Cancer Center. Visitation: Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Casselton, ND. Funeral: Friday at 10:30 AM at Arthur United Methodist Church, Arthur with visitation one hour prior. Burial: Arthur Cemetery.
