Gregg Edward Johnson, age 69, a beloved figure in the world of classic automobiles, was born on September 19, 1955, in Hill AFB, Utah. His journey through life came to an end on May 28, 2025, in Grove, Oklahoma.
Gregg found immense joy in the restoration of classic automobiles, a passion that not only served as his career but also defined much of his life. He was known for his ability to build engines and his deep involvement with the Tulsa Vette Set, where he shared his love for cars with fellow enthusiasts. Beyond his professional endeavors, he was an avid racer, a charismatic DJ, and a dedicated host of car shows.
In addition to his automotive passions, Gregg was also known for his love of husky dogs, which brought him joy and companionship throughout his life
Gregg’s legacy lives on through his seven children: Rodney Johnson, Etta Johnson-Bosh, Stephanie Wilson, Waylon Johnson, Monica McCann, Michelle Johnson, and Kevin Johnson, each of whom carry forward his spirit and values. He is also remembered fondly by his numerous grandchildren.
He is survived by four siblings: Amalia Arau, Danny Johnson, Elaine Hoffer, Darrell Johnson, and Denise Sprinkle, who will deeply miss their brother.
Gregg was preceded in death by his parents, William Carnes Johnson and Louise Evelyn (Tippit) Johnson, and one brother, Steven Johnson.
A Memorial Gathering to honor Gregg's life will be held on June 18, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma. All who knew him are invited to join in celebrating the life of a man who touched so many lives.
