Gregorio Gomez was 83 years old and passed peacefully at his home with his family by his side in Elmsford New York on July 27, 2024. He was a lovely, dedicated family man and husband, who provided for everyone he cared for. He was loved and respected by so many people due to his infectious personality and charisma.
He was born in Bajo del Yuna in Dominican Republic. He met his wife Ana "Rosa" Gomez when they were teens and have been together for 64 years. He is survived by his children: Digna, Jose, Elpidio, Elba, Diocelis and Gregorio Jr., his 19 grandchildren and 5 great grand children. He came with his wife to the United States in the 1980's. After he became a citizen he started working for maintenance and merchandise in various locations and eventually retired working from Dorall Arrowwood in 2018.
In Dominican Republic, he was a farmer, a businessman and a store owner. He was one of the first people to create a business in Yuna and helped many people in need. He had a supermarket he owned rice crops and farms. He owned a hotel. He worked with his father to farm beans, took care of pigs and cows. He also sold lottery tickets. His father helped him save money to then create his own business. His wife and him worked together to make coffee, candy and ice cream to sell.

Gregorio Gómez tenía 83 años y falleció pacíficamente en su casa con su familia a su lado en Elmsford, Nueva York, el 27 de julio de 2024. Era un hombre de familia y esposo encantador y dedicado, que proveía a todos los que cuidaba. Fue amado y respetado por muchas personas debido a su personalidad contagiosa y carisma.
Nació en Bajo del Yuna, República Dominicana. Conoció a su esposa Ana "Rosa" Gómez cuando eran adolescentes y han estado juntos durante 64 años. Le sobreviven sus hijos: Digna, José, Elpidio, Elba, Diocelis y Gregorio Jr., sus 19 nietos y 5 bisnietos. Llegó con su esposa a los Estados Unidos en la década de 1980. Después de convertirse en ciudadano, comenzó a trabajar para el mantenimiento y la mercancía en varios lugares y, finalmente, se jubiló trabajando en Dorall Arrowwood en 2018.
En República Dominicana fue agricultor, empresario y dueño de una tienda. Fue una de las primeras personas en crear un negocio en Yuna y ayudó a muchas personas necesitadas. Tenía un supermercado, era dueño de cultivos de arroz y granjas. Era dueño de un hotel. Trabajó con su padre en el cultivo de frijoles, cuidó cerdos y vacas. También vendía billetes de lotería. Su padre lo ayudó a ahorrar dinero para luego crear su propio negocio. Su esposa y él trabajaban juntos para hacer café, dulces y helados para vender.
