With heavy hearts and devoted faith, the family of Gregorio “Greg” Lerma, Jr. announces his passing on October 25, 2025. We entrust his soul to God’s loving mercy and the promise of the Resurrection through Jesus Christ. Greg was a man of deep faith, love, and quiet strength, whose kindness and compassion touched the lives of all who knew him.
With a hardworking and entrepreneurial spirit, Greg was a self-employed businessman, committed to transporting essential supplies to vital destinations. If someone was in need along the road, he would stop and lend a helping hand. His compassionate heart stretched like the long roads he traveled, endless and purposeful. He loved to barbecue and took great pride in it. His brisket and chicken were among his most delicious and well-loved dishes.
As a proud family man, Greg cherished spending quality time with Letty, his beloved wife of 24 years, and his sons, Greggy and Gael, who gave him so much joy. Meaningful conversations with Greggy about life, work, and trucks were moments he cherished deeply. Greg was a J.W. Nixon High School graduate and attended Laredo College. He had a gift for spelling and participated in several elementary UIL competitions. Greg devoted himself to reading the Bible and consistently engaged in sincere, meaningful conversations with God and Jesus Christ. Because of his devotion to his religious beliefs, Greg was a caring, loving man to his wife and children. Through the love and faith to his parents, Greg embraced his spiritual journey to God and Jesus Christ.
Greg was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Margarita Trevino Lerma, and now joins her in the peace of eternal rest.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Letty Lerma, his cherished sons, Gregorio “Greggy” Lerma III and Gael Lerma, his loving father, Gregorio Rendon Lerma, Sr., and his dear sisters Panfila Lerma, Leticia Lerma, Margarita (William) Cochrane, and Norma (Ernesto) Mendoza. He also leaves behind treasured uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews, who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
Greg’s life was guided by faith, love, humility, and compassion. He faced life’s challenges with courage and grace, always keeping God, Jesus Christ, and family at the center of all he did. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His laughter was uplifting, spreading joy to everyone around him. His gentle spirit and generous heart will be remembered as a lasting testament of a life well lived in love and faith.
Pallbearers will be: Gregorio “Greggy” Lerma III, Gael Lerma, Julian Rodriguez, Jr., Julian Rodriguez III, Gabriel Garcia, Arnoldo “Ernie” Lerma, Johnny Mata, and Cleofas Trevino, Jr.
Visitation will take place on Monday, November 3, 2025, from 4 to 9 pm at Hillside Funerals and Cremations, where a Vigil Service and Rosary will begin at 7 pm, led by Rev. Fray Pablo Cesar Cisneros, O.F.M.
Service will continue on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 7 am until 9:30 am at the funeral home, where the funeral procession will depart to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, by Rev. Fray Salomon Rodriguez, O.S.A.
Procession will depart the church after the mass and proceed to the family plot at El Tordillo Cemetery (Las Tiendas Rd., Farm to Market 3338), where he will be laid to rest in the family cemetery.
