Gregorio Ramirez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Castillo Funeral Home on Mar. 1, 2026.
Gregorio Jr Ramirez, at the age of 88, left us with peaceful memories the day GOD called him home on February 22, 2026 in San Antonio, Texas with loved ones by his side.

He was born in San Antonio to Gregorio and Teresa V. Ramirez, and preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years Antonia E. Ramirez, parents, brothers, Gerardo "Jerry", Ramiro, Adolfo Ramirez and sisters, Olivia Solitaire, Dora Ruiz, Catalina Olveda and son-in-law Michael E. Myers.

He was a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ellis, Sandra Myers and son St. John Ramirez. Grandchildren, Teresa Rice (Eugene), Johnny Lee Correa III (Crystal) and Jaydalynn Villarreal. Great grandchildren, Emma, Johnny Lobo, Alexander, Nick, Lotus and Lily. Last living sister, Estela Dominguez, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was versatile in many trades, a hardworking, charismatic man who could never meet a stranger and would strike up a conversation very easily. Those who knew Gregorio Jr will remember him as a believer in GOD, good-hearted, old school values, always willing to lend a hand and share stories from the "19 throw-it-aways", his funny captivating saying.

His enjoyable passions were family, fishing, boating, hunting, Bar-B-Quing, watching football, basketball, western cowboy movies, sitting on the front porch, and a passion for roadmaps and storytelling on his adventurous travels as a young, long haul truck driver and later skilled in various home building trades.

Special Thank you and appreciation to EMBRACE Hospice Team, Candis RN, Tiffany Social Worker, Chaplain Dennis and everyone else who helped us during Dad's short hospice care needs. A Special THANK YOU and recognition to Rose Marie and John (son) for going above and beyond as his primary caregivers.

Hospice is about living every moment to the fullest with your loved one at home and helping us through the transitions of life.
