Gregory J. Baker, age 69, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on November 3, 2025 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Born in Hamilton, OH and raised in Claymont, DE, Greg had resided in North Wilmington for the past 66 years.
One of Greg's first jobs was at Wilmington Dry Goods, where he met his wife, worked alongside his family and made many life-long friends. Later in his career he worked at Pepsi and Rollins Leasing ultimately retiring as a Compliance Officer with Bank of America in 2019. After retiring, Greg thoroughly enjoyed being a part-time driver and tour guide at the historical Nemours Estate and Garden. Greg graduated from Mount Pleasant High School, Class of 1974. He was proud to have earned the rank of Eagle Scout in his younger years.
Greg's passions included fishing, 60s and 70s rock music, and playing guitar. He treasured time spent with family in Ocean View, DE, Cape May, NJ, and South Carolina, and was a loyal fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. At the time of his passing, the Eagles were the reigning Super Bowl champions.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald J. and Mary Lou (Weisbrodt) Baker. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Joanne D. (Nasino) Baker; his sons, Neil A. (Stacy) Baker and Daniel L. Baker; his siblings, Karen Micale, Terrence Baker (Lynda), and James (Debbie) Baker; his cherished grandchildren, Isla Lynn and Finn Gregory; several nieces, nephews, a grand nephew and grand dog.
