Gregory A. Bloch, Jr., 33, of South Bend unexpectedly passed on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at his home. He was born in South Bend on May 27, 1992, to Gregory, Sr. and Maria (Ortiz) Bloch.
Gregory’s parents still survive, along with his children, Gregory III and Maricella, and special friend, Sonia Betancourt. Gregory’s siblings, Tatyana and Maria E. Bloch, and many close aunts and uncles; Rosario Cervantes, Angelica Arriaga, Amelia Tamez, Carla Suggs, Martin, Jesse, Juan, Nazario, and Michael Ortiz; cousins, Endesha Henderson, Jesse Bloch Jr, Johntu Reed Sr, and Jarvis Bloch, as well as his grandfather, Nazairo Ortiz also survive. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kristina, and his grandmother, Teresa Ortiz.
Gregory was an avid football fan, having played in high school and continuing to cheer on the Notre Dame Irish and the Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed watching football and boxing, eating wings with his dad and son. Gregory had a passion for family cook outs, listening to music, and spoiling his dogs. Gregory was a member of Mt. Carmel Church and had a deep relationship with Jesus, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his children and family.
A time to visit with family and friends is scheduled for Sunday, October 12, from 2-4 pm with a brief service beginning at 4pm at Cruz Family Funeral Home, Osceola. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family to begin a college fund for Gregory III and Maricella.
