Funeral services for Gregory Wayne “Red Dog” Briery, 73, will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Brother Wayne Fussell.
Wayne was born on July 28, 1949 in Vivian, Louisiana to John and Ruth Briery and passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Wayne was a resident of Benton, Louisiana. He retired from AT&T. He loved the outdoors. Fishing was great, but hunting was his passion. He loved prepping the land, building stands and being in the woods deer hunting. Wayne always loved and made time to spend with his family. He enjoyed grilling and eating meals with his family. Tuesdays were “Pappaw Wayne Night.”
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his son, Chris Briery and wife, Donna Dunn Briery; stepdaughter, Renee David; grandchildren, Tylor, Jessie, and Hunter Briery; great-grandchild, Odin Briery; brothers, John Briery and Ray Demonbreun; and numerous nieces and nephews.
