Gregory "Greg" Kayne Choate was born in Bakersfield, California to Troy Franklin and Joan Lee (Riley) Choate on November 4, 1953. He completed this earthly journey on Thursday, December 25, 2025, in Oklahoma City at the age of 72.
Viewing be 1:00-5:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 1, 2026, with the family present between 2:00-4:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for Friday, January 2, 2026, at 1:00 in the chapel at Whitt Funeral Home with Pastor David Standifer officiating. A live stream of his service will be available by visiting his obituary at www.whittfh.com. Serving as pallbearers are Brandon Thacker, Austin Choate, Tommy Worley, Jason Cox, Derek Davis, and Lane Perigo; honorary pallbearers will be Huey Williams, John Todd, Raymond Tucker, and Ted Turner. Interment will follow in the Marlow Cemetery.
Greg graduated with the Bray High School Class of 1972. He worked on oilfield pipeline for almost all his life except for 7 years spent in the Army. He saw a lot of the United States while traveling for work. He enjoyed fishing. He loved his cows and the peaceful time spent with them. Greg loved getting together with his family and friends for cookouts and fish fries. He was faithful to attend his grandchildren's sporting events and sheep shows. He also enjoyed being a farmer.
He married the love of his life, Paula Marie White, on April 8, 2001 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Preceded in death by his parents, grandmother Goldie Miller, and brother Chris Choate; Greg is survived by his wife Paula Choate; five children and their spouses: Rachelle and Tommy Worley of Purcell, Austin and Tara Choate of Marlow, Jeff and Tanya Snyder of Bakersfield, California, Aimee and Derek Davis of Marlow, and Erica and Jason Cox of Marlow; grandchildren: Kyle Perigo, Lane and Casey Perigo, Hunter and Kelsi Perigo, Beau Gregory Choate, Berlynn Choate, Jarrod Snyder, Delaney Snyder, Makayla Snyder, Wade Davis, Weston Davis, Paige and Cole Johnson, Rowan Cox, Harper Cox, and Brooklyn Williams; and great grandchildren: Bentlee Perigo, Brinlee Perigo, Gatlin Perigo, Landry Perigo, Linkin Perigo, Everly Perigo, Castle Perigo, Kaydence Perigo, Finnian Perigo, and Lane Johnson. He is also survived by his brother Randy and Vicki Choate; sister-in-law Carolyn Choate; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
