November 13, 2024. He was the third of five children born to Allen Lawrence and Donna Louise Madsen Cunningham. Greg was born in Salt Lake City, on October 7, 1951. When he was six years old, his family moved to Grantsville, where they remained.
After high school, Greg fell in love and married Pauline Lynne Seeley. They later divorced but not before having two perfect sons, Gregory (Karla Staker) Cunningham and Brian (Jeddah) Cunningham. Later, he married Teresa Otterstrom Hurst (later divorced), becoming a bonus dad to her three daughters: Tracy (Kyle) Allen, Tina (Jeff) Stewart, and Tiffany (Justin) Deveraux. Together, Greg and Teresa completed their family by having an angel of their own, Veronica (Craig) Moore.
Greg had many jobs over the years, always giving his best. Like many, he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. Music was one of his passions. He was very musical-he played the drums, guitar, and would even sing. Drums were his favorite. He played in a band that he and his brother Gary had together for many years, performing at weddings, New Year's parties, and other community events. While raising their families, it was very common for him to have his drums set up in Grandma's living room, where he and Uncle Gary would play and sing for hours during holidays and other family gatherings.
Greg loved a good joke, almost as much as he loved telling one. The best part was his laughter, which often made it impossible for him to finish the joke.
He leaves behind his Yorkie, Princess, Snickers, his children, and his grandchildren: Lindzee, Aubrey, Aaron, Destanie, Quinton, Cameron, Kyrstin, Brayden, Kaiden, Michael, Chelci, Felicity, Brenden, Damen, Madison, Conner, Kenden, Aizlee, Alivia, and Ammon, as well as 13 great-grandchildren. His siblings, Allen "Buck" (Cindy) Cunningham, Gary Cunningham, and Pamela Butler, also survive him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his oldest sister, Betty Freed, and his brother-in-law, Kurt Butler.
His grandchildren fondly remember Grandpa teaching them to shoot a pistol, how to drive, how to build a fire, fishing trips with just Grandpa, and him telling them jokes. We love you, Grandpa.
Funeral services will be held on December 18,2024 at 1:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 81 Church St, Grantsville, Utah 84029. A family prayer will be held at 12:30 prior to the services.
Interment at the Grantsville City Cemetery.
