Greg S. Ellenburg
Greg Ellenburg, 62, of Easley, SC passed away at home January 5, 2026. He attended Easley Christian School and graduated from Easley High School. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and more recently attended Cedar Rock Baptist Church.
He was the son of his devoted father Marvin Ellenburg and his late mother Gail Ellenburg whom he adored with all of his heart.
Surviving in addition to his father are his sister Melissa (John) Vess, his nephews Will (Nicole) Vess and Jake (Emma) Vess, and his great nephews and nieces Luke, Hadley, Eva and Jack Vess. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Through the years, Greg lived in Florence, SC, Spartanburg, Charlotte, and Atlanta before returning to his hometown of Easley. He worked in retail sales and property management. In more recent years, he conducted estate sales at which he connected with people and made many lasting friendships.
He loved his family and he had a special and adoring love for his Mama and his Meme. His close friends meant the world to him. Carolyn Golden was his second mama after Gail went to heaven. His best friend Holly and his dear friends Cara, Linda, and Krystal shared some thoughts about Greg, including:
* He always kept his sense of humor, even in the most difficult times.
* He never met a stranger, and he had a way about him that made people trust and confide in him.
* He was known for his talents, quick wit, and charisma. A self-proclaimed “National Treasure and Inspiration to All”, he never met a stranger and had many friends. He loved many of them and “liked the rest of them well enough to tolerate them”.
His favorite saying was “Bless your heart sho nuff”.
Greg is best summed up by a post made this week by his dear friend, Cara: “Kind. One of a kind. Quirky, unfiltered, talented, creative, hilariously funny, never met a stranger, hard-working, loyal, enigmatic. Greg was hard to describe. He is so loved by many and will be missed.”
Rest in peace, Greg. We love you, dearest son and brother and friend.
