It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gregory Scott Free, who left this world on December 1, 2025, at the age of 42. Born on November 16, 1983, in Houma, Louisiana, Greg lived a life filled with laughter, love, and adventure, leaving behind a legacy that reflects the true spirit of his generous heart. Greg was a Morgan City resident known for his warmth and his infectious smile. A true jack of all trades, he had a knack for making even the most complex tasks seem effortless. No matter what he was working on, Greg brought a sense of passion and dedication that inspired all who knew him. Those fortunate enough to share a moment with him felt an immediate sense of safety and care, thanks to his big personality. Greg had a unique ability to forgive, give, and lift you up when you needed it most, proving time and again that family was everything to him.
Gregory will be sadly missed ad lovingly remembered by his children, Riley Scott Free, Mckenzie Leeann Percle, Greory James Free; siblings, Lodie Lerma and husband Ralph, Craig Michael Free, Charlie Shae Free and significant other Anthony Richard, Step Siblings; Tiffany Aucoin and husband Ricky, Brittany Sons, Lynwood Sons Jr.; nieces and nephews, Mckenzie, Andrew, Julie Anna, Jesslyn, Kennedy, Collin James; great nieces and nephews, Levi Anthony, Rezzie, Davis, Kathi Jo, Jonah, and Sophia; significant other, Kalyn Gros.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gregory James Free, Kathy Jo Fontenot Sons; sister, Amanda Free; stepfather, Lynwood Sons Sr.
In a celebration of Greg’s life, we invite family and friends to join us for the funeral service on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at 1:00 PM, followed by burial at 2:30 PM. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Come share your stories, your laughter, and your love as we all remember the joyous moments we had with this incredible man. Let us fill the room with the same warmth and love Greg shared with us throughout his life.
