Gregory Lee Greenfield

Gregory Lee "Skeeter" Greenfield passed away on December 3, 2025 near Warm Springs,
Oregon. He was born on June 15,1953 in Caro,Michigan, the son of Fred and Gloria
(Achenbach) Greenfield.
Greg graduated from Caro (Michigan) High School, class of 1971. Greg earned a degree from
Delta College and left for Government Camp, Oregon in 1974. This move to "the mountain"
(Mt. Hood) allowed Greg to pursue multiple occupations including the local ski resorts, logging,
carpentry, and the building of rustic furniture. He returned to Caro, Michigan occasionally in the
late 70's in December to work at the family owned men's clothing shop.
"Skeeter" is survived by his brothers Chris and Scott. Greg was preceded in death by his
parents Fred and Gloria Greenfield.
"Skeeter" became part of the local community with his Government Camp Forest Products
business. He produced many rustic indoor and outdoor tables in use today by area
businesses. He also participated in the building of facilities at Ski Bowl and the day lodge at
Timberline. Greg also created a snowboard accessory handle that he used personally and
patented.
"Skeeter" loved the Government Camp area and always took all "flatlander" visitors (including
family) on amazing rides on the old Barlow Road and Oregon Trail.
A memorial gathering and celebration of life was held at Charlie's Mountain View on Sunday
12-14. It was attended by his brothers and niece Shelby. The 2-hour schedule was exceeded
by several hours as many local residents shared their stories of Skeeter's activities and help in
the local area. A future burial will take place in the Government Camp area with family and friends.
