Gregory Allen Grissette was born on May 31, 1954, to Robbie Phillips and Al Jay Grissette in New Orleans, LA. Gregory Graduated from Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools before he enlisted in the United States Navy.
After receiving an honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he would become a Stationary Engineer working first for the Nashville Thermal Plant for 25 years. He continued working for the company now under the name Constellation Energy for another 17 years until the time of his passing. Greg also worked for himself as certified HVAC technician.
After returning from the Navy, Gregory had in encounter with Christ and as a result was baptized in Jesus Name at Mt Olive Word of Life in Norfolk, VA. Later Elder Grissette served as member of New Covenant Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, Nashville, under the leadership of Bishop Felton Smith. At the time of his passing Elder Grissette served as a faithful member of the Faith Apostolic Church of Nashville under the leadership of Bishop Napolean Ward, ThD.
In 1985, Gregory was United in holy matrimony to Marquinta Denise Grissette. This union created a blended family that included seven children. Two days before his passing Gregory and Denise had the pleasure of celebrating 40 years of marriage with a “We Still Do” vow renewal ceremony.
Elder Grissette will forever be remembered as a man of unwavering faith. Above all else….. HE TRUSTED GOD. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and writing songs, poems, short stories and was even working on a stage play. Elder Grissett also loved spending time with his family. During those times he was surrounding by his grandchildren who loved him beyond words.
On July 21, 2025, Our Sovereign God saw fit to allow Elder Gregory Grissette to lay down and take his rest. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Robbie (Robert) McKissack; father, Al Jay (Delia) Grissette: siblings, Sheila Grissette, and Kevin McKissack; and granddaughter; LeKoya.
Elder Gregory Grissette leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife; Copastor Denise Grissette, siblings; Cecil Grissette, Sandy McKissack Grissette, Larry Grissette, Renee Grissette, Dijon Grissette, and Doug(Irma) Postlewaite; children, Bobby (Felicia) Taylor, Antwan Taylor, Lakeda (Jeffrey) Conyers, Traci Grissette Ward, Kenya (Curtis) Watkins, Sheree Grissette, and Taborah Gray; 25 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
