Gregory Ryan Hall

Gregory Ryan Hall was born October 31, 1981 in Parkersburg, WV. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 21, 2025.

He is survived by his parents, Kay (Mike) Powers and Greg (Cathy) Hall, his grandfather, Douglas Cunningham and four siblings, Briann (Aaron) Fleming, Mac Smith, Corey (Jessi) Powers and Craig (Becky) Powers. He also had four nephews and 2 nieces.

Ryan was a veteran of the United States Navy where he was an Aviation Structural Mechanic Second Class as an Aviation Warfare Specialist. While enlisted he was deployed four times starting in 2001 on the USS Carl Vinson as part of Carrier Wing 11, which served the initial airstrikes carried out after the attack on 9/11. In 2003, he was aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt in support of the Global War on Terrorism. From 2005-2006 he was deployed again on the USS Roosevelt as part of Carrier Wing 8 in the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. His last deployment was in Afghanistan in support of the Global War on Terrorism as a combat mail carrier.

Ryan was an avid firearm collector and aficionado that also enjoyed tinkering on motors and engines. His extensive mechanical knowledge was often called upon by family and friends, whether it was for a lawn mower, washing machine or a late model truck. Being a kid at heart, he also loved flying drones and remote-control airplanes as well as fishing and four-wheeler and dirt bike riding. He often shared these loves with his nieces and nephews, creating memories for them for a lifetime.

Ryan had a sharp wit and sense of humor that could only be truly appreciated if you knew him well. He will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he had scattered across the United States. Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, WV is assisting the family with the arrangements.
