Gregory Hayward

Hayward, Gregory M., longtime resident of Great Island of Plymouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025. Formerly of Hingham and Basking Ridge, NJ.Beloved husband of Susan Baker Hayward, loving father of Sean Hayward (wife Kate) and Clifton Hayward, and cherished Pa of Emily and James, son of the late Henry and Vera (Murray) Hayward of Hingham. Brother of the late Hank Hayward; uncle of Chris, Trevor, and Joe Hayward.
Graduate of Hingham High School and Providence College. Greg was a proud 1st Lieutenant in the Marine Corps who served in the Vietnam War with the 9th Marines. He worked in management in the automotive industry, with positions throughout the US,
he was admired and respected by many friends and colleagues. Eventually retiring in Plymouth,Greg was active in his community, initiating a veteran's group in Great Island that brought Veterans together to raise money supporting local Veterans groups. He will be sincerely missed by family, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, 3:00PM–6:00PM, in the CARTMELL – DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 619 State Road, Plymouth, MA (Manomet). A Memorial Service will beheld on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 11:00AM at Christ Church Parish, 149 Court Street Plymouth, MA.
