Kathy Boyle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cartmell-Davis Funeral & Cremation Service, Inc. - Manomet on Feb. 17, 2026.
Kathy Ann (Melvin) Boyle, age 73 years, of Plymouth, MA passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at her home, while surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of John P. Boyle, and the daughter of Margaret (Duggan) Melvin and the late Frederick A. Melvin of Brooksville, Florida.

In her younger years, Kathy worked as a CNA at Middlesex Sanatorium, where she met the love of her life, John. For John, it was love at first sight, though winning over Kathy's spirited and vivacious heart required both persistence and devotion. Their meeting sparked an enduring bond that led to 54 years of marriage, built on a foundation of deep mutual respect and a shared value of family that anchored their lives together.

As a devoted mother and wife, Kathy embodied boundless love, patience, profound understanding, and a deeply maternal spirit for her family. These innate qualities naturally extended into her professional life, where she dedicated 28 years to guiding the development of countless children as the founding owner and operator of her home daycare, "Top of the Hill Little Tots," in Franklin, Massachusetts. Children were consistently drawn to Kathy for her tender, exceptional care, profound kindness, and engaging attention. She took immense pride in her family, her home, and the thriving daycare she built. Her impeccable taste and love for design, especially in seasonal decorating and celebrating, brought immense joy and united her family in holidays and gatherings. Kathy retired with John to their seaside Plymouth neighborhood in 2009, where she cherished the beach and tending to her garden.

Besides her devoted and loving husband John, and her mother, Margaret, Kathy will be deeply missed by her beloved children: Adam Boyle and his wife Susan of Bristol, Rhode Island; Evan Boyle and his partner Erin Gilmore of New Hampshire; and Katelyn Provenzano and her husband Vincent of Assonet, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Finnigan Patrick, Paisley Grace, and Clover Ann Boyle, as well as Axel Vincent Provenzano.

Kathy was the sister of the late Frederick "Ted" Andrew Melvin, his wife Kristal Melvin of Hernando Beach Florida, Edward Melvin and his wife Kathy of St. Petersburg Florida, and Kevin Melvin and his partner Shelley Shouthard of Mooresville, North Carolina.

Visitation with the Boyle family will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the CARTMELL – DAVIS FUNERAL HOME, 619 State Road, Plymouth, MA. In the summer, around Kathy's birthday, her family is having a celebration of her life at a day and time to be announced.
