Gregory James Hunt
February 26th, 1974 - January 22nd, 2022
Gregory James Hunt passed away unexpectedly in his home surrounded by loved ones January 22nd, 2022.
Gregory was born February 26th, 1974, to James Otto Hunt and Donna Jean Hunt. He was a miracle baby and continued to be a miracle his whole life. He was raised in a loving home as the oldest child of four. He attended Reeths Puffer schools and graduated class of '92. In high school he enjoyed playing the Tuba in the marching band, as well as playing soccer & volleyball. He lived in Muskegon & North Muskegon his entire life. He worked at Canon Muskegon for 15 years and Nugent Sand prior to that.
In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley, shopping, playing with his dogs and exercising. He was a body builder and loved weightlifting. He was very passionate about sports, most of all he loved watching his son Leighton play soccer, football & basketball.
He was a very loving father to his son Leighton James Hunt. They would talk every single day and he never missed a game, concert, or any event his son was in. They enjoyed collecting Pokémon cards and playing Pokémon go together. They also loved anything to do with sports cars and they shared a love of shoes (especially Jordan #5). Leighton was his heart, his pride & joy. He was what kept him going and helped him to get through each and every day.
He met the love of his life, Pamela, at the gym in 2014 and they fell in love quickly after. They married March 25th, 2017, and he gained two stepchildren that he adored, Mickenzie & Christopher. Greg and Pamela loved vacationing, sporting events, movies, motorcycle runs, going out with friends, but most of all just hanging out at home with their kids and pets. They shared an incredible love that was felt by everyone who knew them.
He was a proud father, devoted husband, a wonderful brother, son, uncle, and a good friend. He was a strong & kindhearted person, never letting anything stop him from living his life to the fullest while keeping a smile on his face. He was a positive, friendly, and inspirational guy who had a smile that could light up a room and soulful blue eyes. People were always drawn to him, and he was the most generous person.
Greg survived for 17 years after being diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2004. He was a member of The Colon Club and was even featured in the 2009 calendar for people under 45 yrs. old with colon cancer. He was always a beacon of hope for people who were recently diagnosed with cancer. He would reach out to them with words of encouragement to help uplift them up.
