Gregory Jeselnick Obituary

Gregory Luke Jeselnick, of Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, died at his home on July 4, 2023, ?after a long and valiant battle with appendiceal cancer. He was 61.
Gregory was born on May 30,1962, in Saint Marys, Pennsylvania, a small mountain city two hours northeast of Pittsburgh, PA. He was the eleventh of twelve children of Edward Stanley and Yolanda Rose (Boland) Jeselnick.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers John (Barbara) of Naperville, IL, Thomas and Andrew of Pittsburgh, PA, and father-in-law, Salvatore Scali. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Angela (Scali) Jeselnick, by eight siblings, James (Mary Kay) of Chesterton, IN, Fr. Stephen of Colorado Springs, CO, Mary Jo (Jim) Ford of Newport, PA, Anne (Christopher) Wildfire of Mount Lebanon, PA, Paul (Andrew) of Denver, CO, Julia (Ken) Kosowski of Buffalo, NY, Mark of Pittsburgh, PA, and Dona (Paul) Lewis of Lewisberry, PA, by his mother-in law, Concetta Scali of Camp Hill, PA, and by sisters- and brothers-in-law Barbara Jeselnick of Naperville, IL, Elizabeth (Andrew) Pease of Owings Mills, MD, Maria (Jim) McCarthy of West Chester PA, Rosanna (Mark) Smithnosky of Lemoyne, PA, and his extended family of nieces and nephews.
Born on Memorial Day, Greg began life with a bang and never looked back! His joyful momentum never slowed down, from the tales of fun with old, childhood friends he never forgot, to the many memories of being with family growing up in St. Marys. From Sunday meals that included polka music with his mother and father keeping step, to working in his grandfather Bucky's green house, to the many picnics including picking huckleberries, to masterful lighting of fireworks, Greg was always the life of the party.
He moved to Harrisburg, PA in1979 for his last year of high school, and found there the love of his life, his wife Angela (Angie) whom he wed in August of 1989.
Moving to Denver, Colorado in 1983, he fulfilled his dream of becoming a Landscape Architect. His time in Colorado included building strong working relationships while working as an intern for Pouw & Associates, along with the many friendships he made. Greg worked his way through college as a Master Painter for some of the premier residences of the greater Denver area with his business partner James Ahe. Gregory graduated in 1994 with top honors from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO, with a B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture. Greg was also an avid skier, which he truly enjoyed while living out west.
After graduation, Gregory and his wife Angie, moved back to Pennsylvania in 1994 where Greg worked for Cope Linder Architects in Philadelphia, PA, and Pennoni Associates in Camp Hill, PA. Some of his most prided work included designing the street scape for the city of Philadelphia and the design master plan for the Milton Hershey School campus. While his work did not stop there, those who knew Greg, knew him for his impressive and notable talent as a Landscape Architect and for his unparalleled knowledge of plants and horticulture. It would be remiss not to say most found him to be a genius in his field.
His love for life and his family, for nature and science, and his deep and abiding Catholic faith made Greg a blessing to all those who knew him and had the great fortune to have him in their lives.
Services will be held in St. Marys, PA, at the Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center St, on September 7, 2023 at 11 a.m. Lunch immediately following at the Sacred Heart Social Center. RSVP for lunch to 717.514.5175.
