Offering prayers, deepest condolences, and heartfelt sympathies to Greg's family, friends, co-workers, church members, workout partners, and all who loved and admired him. Taken far too soon.
Devasted to be finding out only now about Greg's passing. I first met him at the Beckley YMCA, about 2004(?!) or so, and was impressed with his evident amazing physical gifts. More, I was taken with his passion for doing God's work in his profession and in his community. His exuberance came in the strongest grip I have EVER witnessed (beyond crushing), and his passion for the martial art skill Krav Maga. His patience for my endless questions about it and my clambering for quick demos in the fitness center where I worked were a testament to his enduring character. His smile and congeniality ever made me smile in my tasks and busyness at the Y. Greg, you were the complete package and a wonderful man of God. My admiration was total, dude.
RIP dear brother. I still have questions and a fierce desire to try to match your grip someday again. God bless this incredible addition to the Beckley community, who shall always be missed.

Greg showed up at the Mercer County Sheriff's Dept. one evening at the same time as some deputies from Giles County Va. They all had warrants for local gypsies. What a night we all had, Greg was very much a man. He showed up that evening and within a short time he was accepted and guys will know that's not an easy thing to do. I'm sure he will be missed by many who knew and loved him. People like him are getting thin on the ground.

My family has known Greg since he was in elementary school. He was such a good kid. One of my favorite memories of Greg is when he had that little 1 speed motorcycle. Every morning in the summer and on Saturday during school he would wake my brother,Bert Kidd, and myself up with that dang little motorcycle. We love you Greg! Say hello to Pat and Paul!
