Gregory Kinsey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kahlert Funeral & Cremations - Maysville on Mar. 2, 2026.
Gregory "Man" Kinsey transitioned from this earthly life to his heavenly home on Sunday, February 15, 2026 in Jacksonville, NC at the age of 50. Man was born March 7, 1975 in Brooklyn, NY to Linda Kinsey-Brown and the late Gregory Lewis Kinsey. Man grew up in Redhook in Brooklyn, NY. He enjoyed family trips to NC and later moved to Norfolk, VA; where he attended Granby High School and gained many friends in the Titustown Neighborhood. Man loved the Lord, and his full gospel family. He lived an independent life, as he desired. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Trina Brock and brother, Kendall Simmons.

Man had an infectious smile and he loved listening to music, cooking, shopping, driving his gas powered race cars and he enjoyed soaking in the sun. Man loved his family and friends and reassured the times he spent with them. Some of his fondest moments that he loved were shopping for Nike Techs and hats with his niece Janiya, spending time with his son, Ryan and he was proud of his nephew, Jeremiah and his success in basketball. He was very supportive of them and enjoyed seeing them prevail in life. Man had a big heart and loved everyone. He will be remembered for his loving heart, laughter and smile that lit up a room.

Man was dearly loved and leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted mother, Linda Kinsey-Brown; bonus father, Randolph Brown, affectionately known as pop; son, Ryan Conley; sisters, April Mason (Edward), Tara Pearson and Tia Allen; brothers, Terrence Simmons (Chandra), Nathaniel Kinsey (Eshanise), Bryant Pearson, William Pearson (Maxine) and Rolando Pierce; aunts, Paula Boomer and Loretta Smith; uncle, Ralph Smith; cousin/best friend, Bobby Boomer; God sisters, Keauna Quick, Kimberly and Sabrina Rhodes, a very special sister Shevonne Rodgers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Man's precious memories will live forever.
