He is survived by his daughters, Emily Konte-Giunta (Dominic Giunta) and Natalie Konte (Christian Bross); his brother James Konte (Terry Gundic); his sister Christine Konte-Schweizer (Albert Schweizer); his sister-in-law Donna Leone-Konte; and Mike Kraynik, who was like a son to him. He was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Alfred and Doretta Konte; his brother Mark Konte; and his life partner Anna Leone-Konte.
Greg spent his career as a lifelong railroader, proudly working as a locomotive engineer for Norfolk Southern and CSX until his retirement.
Known affectionately as "Kodak Konte," Greg had an eye for capturing the beauty in everyday moments. He carried his camera everywhere, always ready to preserve a memory. He loved nature, long hikes, classic rock, and animals. He was a car enthusiast and collector of fine items. Greg was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. He truly loved the time he spent with his family building their family home in Leroy Township that created many fond memories and stories for all that visited.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 13th, at Saint Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine St, Willowick, Ohio. Burial will be at a later date.
