Gregory John Koski, 67, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure.

Greg was born Oct. 24, 1957, in Cloquet to Orville and Judith Koski. He grew up in Cloquet and attended Cloquet High School before beginning a long career at Potlatch and later Sappi, where he worked faithfully for 44 years until retiring in 2022.

A true outdoorsman, Greg found joy and peace in hunting, fishing, camping and spending time in God's creation. He had a deep love for firearms and was a proud supporter of the Second Amendment and the NRA, believing strongly in the importance of passing that knowledge and respect on to future generations.

Above all, Greg was a family man. He and the love of his life, Melanie (Langley), met in middle school and married in 1983. Together they built a life filled with love and devotion, recently celebrating 42 years of marriage. Greg was especially proud to be a father to his son, Dakota, with whom he shared not only his passions for the outdoors and faith, but also the values of kindness, integrity and hard work.

Greg was a man of faith who walked closely with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Even in his final days, he shared the Word with others, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and strength. He was always ready to help those in need - whether family, friends or strangers - and he will be remembered for his generous heart and steady presence.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Judith Koski. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Melanie; son, Dakota; siblings, Dianne (Tom) Goldsbury, Debbie Eastman, Scott (Amy) Koski, and Lisa Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Per Greg's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. The family encourages loved ones to honor Greg's memory in their own way - by enjoying the outdoors, standing firm in their values, or lending a hand to someone in need, just as Greg so often did.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Koski family, who will direct donations to families in need.

I want to extend my deepest sympathies to the family of Gregory Koski. Judy and Orville Koski were my Godparents and along with my parents, Willard (Louie) and Irene Spicer, we used to get together all the time while growing up, but have lost touch with the family over the years. May God bless you all at this hard time in your lives. Bonnie (Spicer) Burdine.
