Gregory Lukes Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Mid-Wisconsin Cremation Society - Schofield on Oct. 14, 2025.
Gregory Harris Lukes, 77, of Ogema, WI passed away Thursday, October 10, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Greg was born on May 13, 1948, to Glenn and Angeline Lukes (nee Kurtz), in Phillips, WI. Greg spent his school years in Zion, IL and came to northern Wisconsin in the summers to help on his grandparent's farm. As soon as he could, Greg moved out of the city to live in the northwoods of Wisconsin. In 1974 Greg met Lynnice Nelson at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. On May 23, 1975, Greg and Lynnice were united in marriage. Together, Greg and Lynnice raised three children-Candice, Jamie and Forest. Greg worked full time as a logger and a dairy farmer. Greg took great pride in the years he logged with his horses. Greg operated his 1977 Timberjack pole skidder, which he purchased brand new, until declining health would no longer allow. Greg was passionate about logging, farming, fishing, and hunting. Including many Canada fishing trips. In his later years, Greg sold his dairy cattle and started beef farming.
Greg is survived by his wife-Lynnice, daughter-Candi (Jason), son-Jamie (Jade), son-Forest (Shanna), grandsons-Greg (Lila), Shawn, Glenn, and great-grandson Sterling. Greg is further survived by brothers Ron (Gerda), Gordon (Jeanette), and his beloved dogs, Boy and Girl.
Greg was preceded in death by his father-Glenn, mother-Angeline, and grandson-Kaleb.
Per Greg's wishes, no services will be held. A gathering of close family and friends will be held at a later date at one of Greg's favorite places-Big Falls. Greg's close family will lay him to rest in his trusty hunting spot.
We thank everyone for their support during these difficult times.
