Rita A. Lukes, 91, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at Tender Hearts, surrounded by love. She was born on March 3, 1934, to Bernard and Marie (Youngbauer) Giudice.
On October 1, 1955, Rita married the love of her life, Richard A. Lukes, at Holy Rosary Church in Kewaunee, Wisconsin. High school sweethearts, Rita and Richard shared a beautiful life together and recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary — a true testament to their enduring love and devotion.
Rita lived life with joy and creativity. She loved golfing and bowling, where she made many friends and was always known for her fun-loving spirit and being the life of the party. A talented artist, she especially enjoyed working with ceramics and creating statues and Southwestern pieces in her free time. A devout Catholic, Rita’s faith guided her life and brought her comfort.
Above all else, Rita’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment and memory they shared together.
Rita and Richard enjoyed a wonderful retirement, spending time at White Potato Lake and in Sierra Vista, Arizona, before settling in Rio Rancho, New Mexico to be closer to their son, Jim. They spent 27 happy years there before returning to Green Bay.
Rita is lovingly survived by her husband, Richard; her children: Jane (Tom) Aulik, Nada (John) Guarascio, and Jim (Antonette) Lukes; her grandchildren: John, Justin, Katie, Weston, Lucas, Vince, Gina, Taylor, and Sydney; and her great-grandchildren: Jayden, Arizona, Trey, Tyler, Paizley, Halston, and Paxton. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Lukes, along with many dear relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, Paul Lukes, as well as her siblings.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to St. Croix Hospice and Tender Hearts for their compassionate and loving care.
