Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home - NaugatuckGregory Leslie Miller of Graniteville, Vermont, 73, passed away and entered heaven on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at his home.
Mr. Miller was born February 22, 1953, in Derby, CT, the son of the late Leslie and Geraldine (White) Miller.
He is predeceased by his sister, Hazel Melillo (Robert). He is survived by his sisters Deborah Szoldra (Bruce) and Cynthia Tremaglio (Vincent). He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Autumn Relyea (Christopher), Robert Szoldra (Becca), Bob Melillo, John Stowell (Bea), Laura Szoldra, Stacy Brown (Thomas), and Andrea Burke (Jay). All his great nieces and nephews will also miss him.
Greg earned a BA in Sociology from Southern Connecticut University. He was a social worker for the State of Vermont. He served in the Army from 1970-1974 as an MP. Gregory served for a few years on his local chapter of the Trout Unlimited Association Board. He enjoyed his retirement, spending his spring and summers fly fishing in the Catskills of NY.
Greg was a veteran, a social worker, a friend, and an avid fly fisherman. He was sure to visit CT several times a year. He would make trips home for opening day, fishing, and one week at the beach house for July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
He looked forward to and enjoyed his annual trip to the beach house. He was able to visit and talk with his sisters and all his nieces and nephews. On his way back to VT he was sure to spin by to see all the people who meant the most to him. Above all, he was a loving brother, uncle, and friend who will all be missed.
He will be joining His Sister Hazel in heaven.
Arrangements – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 11:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Church St., Naugatuck. Friends are asked to meet directly at church, and there are no calling hours. Burial will follow in the Grove Cemetery. The Buckmiller Ford Mengacci Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
