Gregory Harold Miniard, Sr. born July 21, 1957 in Dayton, Ohio passed away peacefully at home in Hazard, Kentucky on May 5, 2025 at the age of 67-years. He was the retired owner/operator of Acculab Coal & Water testing, which he ran for 30 plus years; Greg also worked as an underground coal miner and was a certified EMT. Greg was a member of the Lotts Creek Free Church, where he was baptized April 10, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Miniard and mother, Lelia Miniard.
Greg loved fishing tournaments with his buddies, his favorite lake was Cherokee Lake in Tennessee. He loved to travel with his wife, always looking for a new adventure. He also loved U.K. sports, weightlifting with his close friends, riding motorcycles, collecting guns, collecting knives, NASCAR, his favorite driver Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and NHRA drag racing and his favorite driver John Force.
Gregory Harold Miniard, Sr. leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife of 24-years, Helen Lynette Martin; son, Gregory Miniard, Jr. & Becky, daughter, Vanessa Slone & Jeremy, Taylor M. Baker & Derrick; stepson, Joseph L. Owens & Brandy; grandchildren, Preston Mullins, Braxton Slone, Brittany Miniard, Kane Miniard, and Phoenix Miniard; a host of step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family & close friends survive.
Visitation for Gregory Harold Miniard, Sr. will be held on Thursday – May 8, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Friday – May 9, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with R.T. Barker & Densmore Goodson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society – Leslie County Relay For Life – C/O Mollie Sizemore – P.O. Box 691 – Hyden, Kentucky 41749.
